Faye and Sidney are both marketers living in the big apple (New York City). They have been together for about two years. Sidney feels in his heart he has found his soulmate, while Faye believes they are without question, just that. Faye's past experience about love brings her back to her own family's pain, which then gets tested as her relationship develops with Sidney, who then battles to discover Faye's secret past with dealing with love as an adversary.
